Slidell Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy Application
**The 2018 Citizens Police Academy is FULL! We will reopen registration in August of 2019**
**Please read before applying** All applicants must be 19 years of age and successfully pass a background check. The Slidell Police Department reserves the right to deny someone entry to the academy based on finding of the background check. By filling out this application, you verify that all information is true and correct. The academy starts on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. Classes will be held every Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., with graduation taking place on October 24, 2018.
Ever wonder what it is like to be a police officer, a detective, a K-9 officer, a crime scene investigator? Do you want an exclusive look of what it’s like behind the scenes at Slidell PD? Chief Randy Fandal is proud to announce that the Slidell Police Department will be hosting a Citizens Academy, and is currently seeking applications.
The Citizens Academy will give students an in-depth and behind the scenes look at the operations and functions of the Slidell Police Department, with classes including presentations from the following divisions: Crime Scene, Evidence Processing, S.W.A.T, Communications, Patrol, K-9, Corrections and Criminal Investigations.
The classes will be held at the Slidell Police Department’s Regional Training Academy, located at the Camp Villere National Guard Base off of Airport Road in Slidell.
